The school governors play a really important role in the running of the school.
They are responsible for many aspects of school life including the appointments of staff, overseeing curriculum development, use of the school’s budget, and the upkeep of the school buildings.
The governors meet once each half term. Meetings alternate between Full Governing Body (FGB) meetings and Combined Committee Meetings (CCM) – the committees are: Finance and Premises, Marketing and Communications, School Development and Personnel. Each committee has a section on the agenda of the CCM and a Chair who is responsible for agenda items relating to their committee, and all governors are expected to attend both meetings.
We make sure that close links with governors are kept through visits, and also many of our governors are parents.
When vacancies arise, we will advertise for anyone wishing to be a governor to step forward for nomination.
During our most recent OFSTED inspection our governing body was judged to be outstanding.
More information about the role of school governing bodies can be found at http://www.nga.org.uk (National Governors’ Association).
Our current governors are listed below and can be contacted through the school office.
